Shared R+D Research & Development

The need of incorporate new product and services has stressed the importance of Research & Development for competitive advantage. Empirical studies of product development have supported this emphasis by correlating integrating practices and superior performance. Gaps in shared knowledge did cause the companies to incur significant excess costs. To explore this connection, we examine the product development efforts of a scientific IT company. We propose integration of shared knowledge among firm members, constituting a resource underlying product development capability.
